Understand, I'm not one of those "Don't panic, it's organic" type...but I try and do my little part. If I can be trained to recycle, so can the Starbucks company.
Always thought it was strange that they promote themselves as an eco-friendly company, but nary a bin for recycling on the premises.
C'mon, Starbucks, it's time to walk the talk. They could pair up with local green organizations and work out the logistics. All it would take is a will and some planning, and they could make a difference on a larger scale than most.
"To whom much is given, much is expected".
It appears Sbux has fallen short in living up to point #5 on their following 6 point mission statement:
"The following six guiding principles will help us measure the appropriateness of our decisions":
1) Provide a great work environment and treat each other with respect and dignity.
2) Embrace diversity as an essential component in the way we do business.
3) Apply the highest standards of excellence to the purchasing, roasting and fresh delivery of our coffee.
4) Develop enthusiastically satisfied customers all of the time.
5) Contribute positively to our communities and our environment.
6) Recognize that profitability is essential to our future success."
